Why are our Workday Skills Cloud profiles empty, and how do we fill them?
Because Skills Cloud is a container, not a source. Workday gives you somewhere well-designed to store skills and somewhere to use them, but it does not infer what your people can do. Something has to populate it, and the default something is employees updating their own profiles, which is why most rollouts stall with profiles that are sparse, stale, or both.
The fix is to feed it from data you already have. TechWolf reads your existing sources: job architecture, work history, learning records, performance data, and where connected, the project and ticketing systems people work in. Skills are inferred from them and written back into Workday itself through a certified, out-of-the-box integration, so Skills Cloud stays the system of record and employees see their skills on their Workday profile. There is no second system to log into.
Nothing lands on a profile unreviewed. Inferred skills pass through a human-in-the-loop step first: employees accept or reject suggestions via the skill assistant in Teams or Slack, or designated job owners review them in an admin console that employees never see.
Because it is a productised, vendor-certified integration rather than a custom build, keeping up with Workday schema changes is our problem rather than yours.
